When someone says a product is vegan, it simply means that the product wasn’t made with ingredients gotten from animals. And when they say a product is cruelty-free, it means the making of that product didn’t involve testing on animals.
A product can be vegan while not being cruelty-free. And in the same way, a product can be cruelty-free while not being vegan. Plus, of course, some products can be both or neither vegan and cruelty-free.
If you’re a vegan queen, it might come naturally to you to go for vegan hair products. But it’s important to know two things;
(1) Being vegan or cruelty-free doesn’t affect the effectiveness of a product. This means that a product can be or not be those things and it won’t be a reason for a lack of increase in the product’s effectiveness.
It’s mostly a matter of principle and preference.
(2) Not all vegan products are 100% vegan because of ingredients like honey and goat milk.

Some of our non-vegan products are called non-vegan because of ingredients like honey. Honey is effective in promoting hair growth, conditioning, retaining moisture, preventing breakage, and even treating the scalp. It has anti-inflammatory qualities that treat some hair conditions such as dandruff.
Honey is a vital ingredient in natural hair care products.
You can spot a vegan and cruelty-free product by looking out for the cruelty-free logo (a leaping bunny or PETA), checking for the certified vegan logo, and reading the ingredient list.
