Curlfriend… come sit with us for a minute. 🤎
Curlfriend Corner is our little monthly space that brings back that old-school curly community feeling — where you get cozy, read a real hair story, save what you need, and leave a comment like, “okay sis… I feel seen.”
And because Earth Day is right around the corner, this one feels extra fitting. Healthy hair isn’t about rushing. It’s about choosing better habits, staying consistent, and letting the results build over time... just like anything we nurture.
This month’s Curlfriend is Jiana Reeves — and her answers are the kind that remind you: sometimes the biggest breakthrough is simply making the routine easier.
Let’s get into it. 👇🏽
Tell us about you
My name is Jiana Reeves. I am from Oceanside, California. A little about myself and what I enjoy to do is spending time with my husband and family. I recently got married so I am enjoying our time together. Aside form that, I love to help and support people even if it is the smallest of things.
Like currently my new obsession is guiding people on their hair journey and learning about their curls. I made a plan for my grandmother and she is loving the outcome. Just like anything or person, you have to learn and understand before treating or demanding results and that is all I did. Asked her what are her goals with her hair and what did she want to improve. I got to do what I enjoy and that is giving people a moment to express themselves and assist them.
How would you describe your hair
Truthfully I am still learning about my hair, I would call my hair low porosity, my curl pattern is semi- coily because it is a looser coil. It is interesting because my single curl pattern will start curling one way, uncurl and then curl again. It is cool to look at.
What are your hair goals right now
My hair goals is to lock in moisture and enhance my curl definition while reducing a little frizz.
What was your biggest struggle before Tree Naturals
My biggest struggle was detangling my hair.
How did you discover Tree Naturals
My sister introduced me to the product and now most of my family uses it.
What made you decide to try us and what were you hoping would change
I was tired of gigantic bottles that I felt i was going through weekly. I was hoping for a good quality conditioner that did not run out quickly and would detangle my hair.
Which Tree Naturals products are your top favorites and why
I have not tried all products but my favorite are the conditioning bar and the hair growth oil. The conditioning bar makes detangling my hair so easy and it feels nourishing even after washing it out.
The hair oil make my scalp for refreshed and smoothing. I do not feel like I am clogging my pores and like it is building up.
Walk us through your routine using Tree Naturals
TN is part of my daily routine, I using the conditioning bar everytime I shower to detangle my hair. So I will wet my hair, part my hair in half and then glide the bar through my hair. Once I do that, i will brush through my hair while wet to detangle my hair. Then I will rinse out the conditioner and once out of the shower I will style depending on mood.
What did you notice first
I noticed softness and slip within my hair.
What is your number one don't do this mistake you learned the hard way
Do not shampoo your hair daily. Only once a week or when you feel it building up. Always brush/detangle hair with conditioner in shower.
If your hair could talk what would it say right now
It would say it is proud and happy to be so vibrant.
How can we keep up with you
