Founder and CEO, LaTresha "Tree" Sayles is a graduate of Virginia State University and holds a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Business Marketing and a Master's Degree from Strayer University in Health Services Administration.


Tree made the decision to do the Big Chop in 2009, which resulted in her need to cultivate gentle, hydrating products that would keep her unique mixture of curls and waves, healthy & strong.  At the time, these kinds of products weren’t readily available on the market like today.


Using her scientific curiosity since childhood and endless hours of research and development, Tree began hand-crafting the hair care line for her own personal hair needs in 2011. Due to the rise in YouTube videos and tutorials, Tree took advantage of the platform and shared many of her styles and products through social media channels, thus resulting in the birth of Tree Naturals.  Her formula for success is attributed to creating moisture-rich, healing products for all hair types and textures using solid ethical practices.

I started perming my hair when I was in my mid 20s; now at 52 I can say that I'd probably only permed it at the most 2xs a year. Sometimes I could go 7-8mths. Being a breast cancer survivor; having had radiation and now on preventative meds, I could tell that my hair thinned some, but was still healthy (thank God)!. Although I’d always perm my hair at home; I’d still go to the salon for a cut/trim to keep the ends in shape. Feb 2020 was the last time I permed my hair. As my hair continued to grow during quarantine and it's now almost a year and a half later, I was like its going to be permed or cut!
